Momentum Acting Studio was founded in Dublin in 2013 by Liza Michael and Robbie Byrne. It grew from a shared conviction that acting is a craft, one that can be taught, deepened, and relied upon under the demands of professional production.

From a converted office space in Dublin, the studio developed a programme built around presence, interaction, and repeatable performance. Over the following years the work extended to workshops and training in Bangkok, Hong Kong, and Paris.

Liza and Robbie's training began with Method Acting in Dublin under Tim McDonnell, a student of Lee Strasberg. They later trained with Sarah Eigerman, in Paris , who had worked as Strasberg's assistant at the Actors Studio in New York in the 1970s before founding her own school and developing her own approach, the Alive Technique. Through her teaching they developed a grounded approach to emotional availability through imaginative engagement rather than emotional recall.

In London, both trained in the Meisner Technique at Actors Temple under Tom Radcliffe. Robbie also trained under Martin Barter, Sanford Meisner's assistant. Robbie additionally studied Practical Aesthetics with Gaby Santinelli, refining the approach to text analysis and playable objectives.
